The PACT Team Peer Counselor has experience as a recipient of mental health services for severe and persistent mental illness and is willing to use and share his or her personal, practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree or a suitable combination of education and experience is required. Certification as a Peer Support Specialist in the state of Washington is required and must be obtained within six months or less from date of employment. This timeframe may only be affected by the availability of WA State Peer Support Specialist training and testing. Relevant experience working with clients with severe and persistent mental illness preferred. Must be flexible to work variable hours that may include evenings and weekends. Must be able to attain Agency Affiliated Support Specialist registration with the State of Washington. Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report.
PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, sit, bend, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, ascend and descend stairs, talk and listen. The ability to lift up to 40 pounds is occasionally needed. Peripheral vision is also required for this position.
