Description

The entry-level Technical Marketing Assistant role requires an organized and motivated individual who wishes to be part of a team dedicated to the continual improvement of Thorlabs' customer experiences. S/he will join a team of highly motivated individuals who have built an industry-leading online resource for our customers and participate in the upkeep and advancement of our ecommerce site, while also facilitating the day-to-day needs of the department. While some projects will be independent, others will require you to work closely with graphic artists and/or technical writing scientists to be successful.

Primary job responsibilities:

  • Upgrades to the Thorlabs Website
    1. Become familiar with our content editing tool and HTML formatting so as to assist with new product releases, web page upgrades, and press release dissemination
    2. Format manuals, spec sheets, and raw data files so as to match current templates
    3. Check out products from stock and work with graphic artists to update photos
    4. Organize and oversee website updates requiring graphics changes or attention to detail to ensure content is updated appropriately
    5. Partner with the graphics staff to create product videos and animations
    6. Implement approved plans for website reorganization
    7. Gather sales and page visitation data to guide marketing page upgrade efforts
  • Involvement in Tradeshow Efforts
    1. Develop/Edit marketing collateral for use at tradeshows
    2. Print marketing materials for tradeshows
    3. Learn domestic and international shipping policies, arrange shipments, and ensure timely delivery of marketing materials
    4. Be able to create/edit automatically timed monitor presentations in Powerpoint
  • Assist with Other Marketing Activities as Needed

Requirements:

  • Two or Four Year College Degree, preferably with at least 2 semesters of coursework in physics or engineering
  • Ability to Multitask and Be Detail Oriented, All While Under Tight Time Constraints
  • Strong Organizational and Planning Skills
  • Ability to Work Effectively in a Team Environment
  • Intermediate Understanding of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Powerpoint)
  • Native Language Writing Skills in English
