Position Overview:

Maintains and analyzes activities in Accounts Payable (AP) and Receivable (AR). This position ensures timely payments of AP invoices and contacts customers regarding outstanding AR balances.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Receives, reviews, and posts AP invoices in Great Plains accounting system

  • Prepares checks to mail to vendors

  • Responsible for collections and posting cash receipts

  • Responsible for gathering new customer and vendor information

  • Works closely with staff on questions regarding invoice irregularity

  • Maintains and files invoices in cabinets

  • Answers vendor and customer inquiries via phone and email

  • Performs other basic clerical duties associated with AP & AR

Position Requirements


  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities

Other/Skills Abilities:

  • Requires understanding of bookkeeping procedures and 5 years of relevant experience

  • Ability to work independently

  • Resourcefulness, neatness and organization skills a must

  • Must be able to adjust to a changing work environment, competing demands and deadlines, frequent changes, delays and unexpected events

Physical Demand Category:

  • Regularly speak clearly so listeners can understand and understand the speech of another person.Regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, control, feel objects, type, file and make copies. Reach with hands and arms.

  • The employee is frequently required to bend and kneel.The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
