Wage Progression: Initial step is currently $12.69/hour with annual step increases based upon hire date and the bargaining unit agreement in effect at the time of the anniversary date. Position Summary Executes administrative, clerical and member/donor service functions of ASDM's membership office by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists in the coordination and implementation of fundraising and membership appeals and campaigns including membership acquisitions and renewals, donor solicitation letters, donor acknowledgement, confidential donor and member relations, daily processing and fulfillment of donations and memberships, maintenance of donor, member, prospect and database files.
- Explains privileges and obligations of membership, resolves complaints, and provides other information to members in person, on the phone, by email, and in writing.
- Provides instruction and coaching to individuals selling memberships, provides training and coordinates work of temporary employees and volunteers. Supports membership sales on the front patio including back-up services.
- Types and sends membership renewal notices. Coordinates mailings with printing/mailing house.
- Collects and records receipts of dues and contributions. Records deposits and reconciliations in coordination with Finance Office.
- Revises existing membership records and generates reports and mailing lists as required.
- Sends newsletters, promotional materials, and other publications to new members, persons on mailing lists, and other people as requested.
- Performs other clerical functions as required.
- Assists in the production of and attends special events both at the Museum and off site.
- Assists in supporting the work of the Guest Services Department as requested. This may involve guest and member on-site support services, staff cross-training including ticket-taking and ticket-selling duties moving towards a more integrated operation between the Membership and Guest Services departments including a 7-day a week operation.

Education and/or Experience Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Raisers Edge 7 database software; Excel spreadsheet software, and Word word-processing software and have knowledge of Internet software. Other Skills and Abilities - Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings for special events.
