Slot Technician: Full Time Overnight Shift

Description

Responsible for the upkeep and proper functioning of slot machines and peripheral equipment in accordance with
company policies and procedures. Work on projects associated with keeping the slot equipment updated, such as
theme conversions, placing new games, and removing and/or relocating existing equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
Responsible for keeping the slot equipment in good operating condition performing according to
manufacturer’s specifications and also complying with property established parameters.
Perform preventive maintenance on all slot machines and peripheral equipment including slot System and slot
signs.
Ensure the appropriate interface with slot systems and the proper wiring of all equipment.
Keep all equipment clean and aesthetically detailed for the Guests’ enjoyment.
Handle the initial set-up and game checks for new slot machines. Complete conversions, and break down,
relocate and set up existing equipment under the direction of the Slot Operations Managers and Supervisors.
Ensure relationship building with every Guest on every interaction through the following steps: Always greet
the Guest in a friendly fashion, ensuring eye contact and a smile. Take care of the Guest’s needs. Close with a
friendly parting comment.
Promote team effort and support with fellow Associates and Supervisors from all areas.
Assist in ensuring machine integrity and check high-end jackpots and other aspects of the game performance as
instructed.
Know and comply with all gaming regulations (Federal, State, and Band Statutes) and Grand Casino’s internal
controls, policies and procedures.
Maintain a consistent and good attendance record.
Bring disputes and unusual Guest activities to the attention of a Slot Supervisor.
Promote positive Guest Relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service.
Ensure that the casino floor and all slot equipment are safe for the Guests and Associates and inform
appropriate parties of unsafe or unsecured areas.
Present self in a professional manner both on and off property.
Must adhere to policies or performance of duties to ensure ongoing Title 31/BSA compliance.
Responsible for following all relevant DGR’s.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or ability to pass our Basic Skills Assessment,
Advanced education in electronics preferred.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.
Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.
Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized
gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages,
common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze
facts, and determine appropriate response.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:
Talk and hear;
See and adjust focus to include close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision;
Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;
Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
Lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (50) pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:
A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).
A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).
Second-hand cigarette/cigar smoke.
