Description

The Events Facilitator assists the Events Department staff with implemetation of internal and external events at Taliesin West including symposia, conferences, concerts, book signings, and more. Attends and manages events from set up to close, predominately at evening functions.

Essential Functions:

  • Implements and monitors event planning procedures including venue, catering, registration, wayfinders and volunteers.
  • Coordinates caters, musicians, and other related companies with the venue contact for security, admittance, timing, facility usage, etc.
  • Works with Human Resources to coordinate event volunteers.
  • Attends all events to direct staff including volunteers and outside vendors and ensure events are executed in an efficient manner; expedites all problems and emergencies.
  • Ensures that all materials/equipment required for event are in place; rectifies any deficiencies.
  • Completes post-event reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in events planning and implementation preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
  • Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
