The Credit Analyst Trainee position is primarily responsible for providing assistance to Credit

Analyst I and Credit Analyst II in their analysis used in underwriting and monitoring of consumer,

C&I, and CRE loans. The trainee will also go through on-the-job training that will cover basic

understanding of workflow, systems, processes, and an introduction to spreading financials and

drafting memos. Works under general supervision and in compliance with established policies,

procedures and regulations.

 
Position Requirements GENERAL SUMMARY (What is done and why)
The Credit Analyst Trainee position is primarily responsible for providing assistance to Credit Analyst I and Credit Analyst II in their analysis used in underwriting and monitoring of consumer, C&I, and CRE loans. The trainee will also go through on-the-job training that will cover basic understanding of workflow, systems, processes, and an introduction to spreading financials and drafting memos. Works under general supervision and in compliance with established policies, procedures and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Majority of duties, but not meant to be all inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned as necessary)
Functional:
• Spreads financials and tax returns for use in credit analysis.
• Underwrites loan request, recommends credit action and prepares credit memorandum.
• Receives training for the bank's systems, templates, processes, etc.
• Interacts with lenders to facilitate organizational goals and business objectives.
• Monitors bank's portfolio for risks and trends through the use of spreadsheets and financial analysis.
• Engages appraisers for large commercial real estate loans and reviews the complete Appraisal Report to confirm credibility and compliance.
Administration:
• Maintains accurate file organization and retention to increase efficiencies.
• Record and document voting results from Loan Committee meetings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (Minimum education, experience, technical and communication skill levels and licenses/certificates normally required to perform the duties of this position.)
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. (Accredited college or university preferred)
• Real Estate coursework is preferred.
• Previous internships in finance field a plus.
• Advanced analytical skills.
• In-Depth knowledge of accounting principles with ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Advanced written, oral, and interpersonal skills with ability to prepare and perform presentations.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Typical working conditions associated with this type of work and environmental hazards, if any, that may be encountered in performing the duties of this position.)
Internal – Work is normally performed in climate controlled office environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of normal office equipment (computers, telephones, etc.). No known environmental hazards are encountered in normal performance of job duties.
External – Occasionally work will include driving for site visits, inspections or meeting, with exposure to traffic, outside atmospheric conditions, heat/cold, or moisture.
