We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Engineering, or related fields for an internship during the summer of 2018. This summer internship opportunity is within the Manufacturing Validation group in Frederick, MD. Core Responsibilities Under the direction of a Validation Manager, support development of the Site’s Periodic Review process, which includes performing risk-based assessments of all utility, facility, and equipment to drive periodic review frequency. enhance the Validation Inspection Readiness Program by developing a quick reference document hierarchy tool for Site and above-Site Validation documents. There may also be opportunities to assist with Validation document generation, field work, and final report assembly that aligns with the Intern’s individual goals What are the primary duties of this position? Under the direction of a Validation Manager, support development of the Site’s Periodic Review process, which includes performing risk-based assessments of all utility, facility, and equipment to drive periodic review frequency. Success will be measured by producing the following outputs: Comprehensive list of all direct-impact utiltiy, facility, and equipment w/ risk assessments to drive periodic review frequency; Draft Periodic Review Schedule aligned with AZ Bio/Regional and Site Periodic Review procedures. Under the direction of a Validation Manager, enhance the Validation Inspection Readiness Program. This standard tool will decrease response times for Inspection Pre-Requests and real-time Inspection requests. Success will be measured by developing a Site-level document hierarchy from Validation Master Plans to historical Validation Reports/Addendums. Depending upon the Intern’s own goals, there may be opportunities to assist with Validation Protocol generation, field work, and Final Report assembly.   Position Requirements Job Requirements Sophomore, Junior or Senior year college student Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 Solid analytical skills, documentation skills, and effective communication skills Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to research independently within AstraZeneca’s Sharepoint Sites and Document Management Systems What technical skills are required?
