The purpose of this requirement is to provide Medical Communication Infrastructure Technical support to the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH) located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia (VA). The FBCH is a state of the art world-class medical care healing environment and leads military medicine through outstanding patient-centered care, innovation, and excellence in education and research. The FBCH is a 120-bed hospital and the central facility of a comprehensive health care network, which encompasses two Family Health Centers (FHC) located in the communities of Dumfries and Fairfax and includes a Specialty Care Ward, Medical/Surgical Unit, Labor and Delivery Suites, a Mother/Baby Unit, Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program, and a 24 hour Emergency Room. The FBCH serves approximately 95,000 eligible military beneficiaries in Northern Virginia. FBCH’s top priority is to care for the Wounded Warriors, Active Duty, and Veterans. FBCH maintains around-the-clock casualty care to restore the health and well-being of those they treat. They also ensure the readiness of our country’s active duty and provide excellent care for their beneficiaries. Database Administrator responsible for: Supporting the organizational operations, presenting high quality of skill sets, productivity, knowledge, mentoring, participating in decision making, success and achievements. Participates in the design, creation, and maintenance of computerized databases. Responsible for quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Works with management to develop database strategies to support company needs. Consults with and advises users on access to various databases. Works directly with users to resolve data conflicts and inappropriate data usage. Directs the maintenance and use of the corporate data dictionary Implementing best practices by securing and hardening the FBCH Database systems, created documentation (SSP, SDD) on all RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) systems The expertise includes installation, configuration, storing and managing information and responsible to set up database systems making certain, those systems operate efficiently and are in compliance with DOD DIACAP Policies and Procedures. Setting up, developing, and migrating both relational and non-relational DBMS into Test, Dev, Staging and Production Environments for SharePoint databases and other web application databases. Working with the developer team to migrate other non- relational databases/applications to relational SQL databases. Documenting all RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) system SOPs and SSPs (system security policies) including designing database backup and restoration strategy. Troubleshooting and applying ad-hoc scripts for managing databases on daily basis. Monitoring Clustered RDBMS (Relational Database Management System) servers and manages SQL server level security, optimizes dynamic queries for better performance, monitoring daily-based scheduled agent jobs. Proactively verifying, testing and reviewing database backups, logs and recovery processes. Applying service packs, patches and upgrades to database servers on monthly basis or as needed. Creating custom audit scripts for monitoring data security and unauthorized accesses. Ensure data availability, by maximizing database uptime, and also develop recovery strategies, and monitors servers to ensure capacity is not exceeded. Designing, developing, implementing and maintaining moderately complex databases, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation and statistical methods. Developing and maintaining expertise in use of automated tools for database maintenance and implementation. Acting as a resource for on-going SQL planning and deployment. Helping with analysis of migration to new SQL environments. Delivering timely and high quality solutions to customer problems and requests focusing on root cause analysis, prevention, knowledge transfer, and opportunity generation. Manage escalations and sub-cases to ensure timely and high quality resolution of all issues. Developing and implementing strategies for providing facilitative support resulting in fewer incidents, increased availability, or accelerated deployments. Developing relationships with technical users/stakeholders or lead architects for the technology you support resulting in more participation in planning and improved user satisfaction. Developing a working relationship with clients that results in increased cooperation and mutual support in achieving each other's goals. Executing formal post-mortem process on closure of critical issues. Using tool SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for scheduling some database backup and index maintenance. Using tool SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) for database development. Monitoring following SQL Alerts: 16-25, 823, 824, 825 which monitor for failed SQL agent jobs, I/O subsystem hardware pending failures, etc. Using tool such as Windows Perfmon (performance monitor) to create baseline and performance tune database servers showing performance problems. Encrypting and certificate management of all database servers. Data size limitation monitoring and alerting via custom scripts. Assisting FBCH client/s with ad-hoc database requests such as MS Access to SQL migration. |
