Oversight of key technological areas including architecture, data technology, and automation. Maintain an urgency around tomorrow’s possibilities. Lead IT/Technology/Automation talent management. Be the catalyst for change. Significantly change the trajectory of BMC, to set us up for the future. May assist North Cliff in acquisitions, mergers or growth for other companies. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED BY THIS POSITION: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred, Bachelor Degree required.Must be able to demonstrate a high level of business acumen. A minimum of 10 years of experience including defining technology strategy and implementing, configuring and customizing technology applications in a mining or manufacturing environment. Expert knowledge of and experience with established technology and knowledge of emerging technology: database structures and design, augmented and virtual reality, big data mining and segmentation, nanotechnology, programming, automation, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Demonstrate a high level of business acumen, including Agile methodologies. Creativity and strategic thinking with a demonstrated ability to provide and articulate the future vision for information systems and plant automation. High degree of analytic ability and inductive thinking required to devise new, non-standard approaches to IS and automation. Leadership: builds trust, winning attitude, positive, high energy, honest, reliable, professional image, collaborates, inspires, dreamer and imager of what is possible. A good understanding of all state, federal, and other applicable regulatory agencies as they relate to BMC’s business RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Direction Working with the Advisory Team develop the strategic business plan for BMC. Provide the focus and alignment with the teams you lead. Lead strategic planning for technology with the IS and Automation teams. Driving technology decisions that are strategic and foundational. Explore many possibilities and discern the best opportunities. Working with the operations strategic leader define automation vision and roadmap for mining operations and coating facilities. Working with the IS teams ensure that technology will support the business demands and develop the future architectural platforms to support business strategy: ERP with AI capability, EDW, ODH, Amazon Cloud Solutions, Data analytics, etc. Execution Build strategic business plans with the BMC Leadership team. Align the IS and Automation team goals and objectives to achieve BMC’s business plan. Assist in the creation of highly accessible, normalized relational database structure to support consistent, automated, flexible business analytics and reporting across the entire BMC enterprise. Oversee the design and creation of the fundamental logical data structure that will primarily be used for analytics, strategy, and operational dashboards in plant operations, automation, sales/marketing, distribution, production planning, and financial performance. Implement solutions to meet the customer demands of speed, flexibility and customization. Lead the team in design and selection of core elements of the database structure, infrastructure, data visualization, security and business continuity. Conduct full lifecycle analysis in regards to the requirements, activities and design of the database structure and plant automation. Execute strategies for business, supply chain and operational optimization. Serve as the change agent for implementing cutting edge, aggressive, new technologies and automation that support long and short-term company goals. Identify database requirements by interviewing customers, analyzing department applications and operations, evaluating existing systems.Implement cloud-based platforms designed specifically for the industrial internet to serve as the foundation of scalable enterprise solutions. Analyze, interpret, and report extensive data analytics. Solve challenges through data science with a passion about innovative approaches to business development and plant automation. Lead the development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan, using current technology such as a IoT cybersecurity program. Leadership Build the A teams in Information Systems and Automation. Develop appropriate performance objectives, hold leaders accountable and provide meaningful rewards and recognition. Financial Performance Partner with the Strategic Leaders team to evaluate the current financial performance of the company and identify specific areas in need of improvement. Develop financial models in alignment with strategic objectives to provide insight into investments and resource requirements. With the team prepare and present future project proposals to the Advisory Team, highlighting how new business opportunities are expected to promote sustainable business growth.
