Description

The Autism Research Centre at Bloorview Research Institute, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in machine learning and data science. They will develop innovative algorithms that improve the understanding of the biology of neurodevelopmental disorders including autism spectrum disorder. Specific focus will be on machine learning and data science, including unsupervised learning and data visualization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing neuroimaging and behavioural data using supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques
  • Design and implement pattern analysis algorithms for processing of physiological signals
  • Contribute to writing scientific papers and grant proposals
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
  • Liaise with clinicians and family
  • Contribute to knowledge translation activities

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Machine learning knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge and experience with programming languages and statistical analysis software (e.g., Python, R, SAS, Matlab)
  • Experience leading and contributing to scientific, peer-reviewed publications
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills
