We are currently seeking junior, senior and MBA candidates who major in Biology, biochemistry or related field.

What are the objectives/goals of the position?

To provide opportunities to college and graduate students to apply academic learning to industry setting, to gain essential industry background knowledge, expand technical and interpersonal skills. Specifically, the intern will gain insight in drug development, learn the basics of using quantitative imaging to determine drug mechanism of action, learn the principles of confocal microscopy and image analysis, and conduct imaging assays.

What are the primary duties of this position?

This position will mostly be responsible to develop image assays to study the internalization kinetics of MEDI drugs and subsequently how drugs are trafficked in the cell. Assays will also be designed to assess the effects of drug treatments on target receptor expression.
Perform and troubleshoot live and fixed cell imaging assays.
Analyze and review data.
Present the work to a scientific group.

 
Position Requirements

What technical skills are required?

  • Confocal microscopy
  • image analysis using Columbus, ImageJ, Matlab or similar programs
  • mammalian cell culture, basic pipetting techniques,
  • Excel and Word
