Description
  1. Provide and document project planning and coordination of individual projects.This includes but not limited to design documents, estimates, request for proposals, budget planning, building code review, scheduling, work order assignments and reporting.

  2. Work with outside vendors on a regular basis.These may include structural and civil engineers, architects, general contractors, energy services, utility companies, trades, municipalities, and specialty services.This position may recommend any/all vendors used in the projects to the Facilities Manager.

  3. Track and report, using project management software on numerous ongoing simultaneous projects.Many of these reports will be in a presentation format in a professional group environment.Actively participate in facilities department meetings.

  4. Disseminate progress reports and resolve issues as they arise; facilitate value engineering to ensure that the final project meets the requirements of the overall project goal.

  5. Adhere to all state and federal safety regulations; ensure that all work sites are in compliance.

  6. Direct the building, construction and/or capital repairs to structural areas and equipment, working with blueprints, floor plans, drawings and providing verbal guidance to others (e.g. benches, wall mountings, floors, doors, framework, sheet rock, finish trim, carpet etc.)

 
Position Requirements

Although this position is mostly days, must be flexible to work some evenings and weekends due to being on call on a rotating basis.

  • BA in Engineering or Management and/or Minimum of 15 years’ experience with commercial building maintenance with 5+ years in a project management role.

  • High level of knowledge of commercial building construction.

  • High level of knowledge of commercial HVAC/R, and MEP (mechanical , Electrical and Plumbing)

  • General knowledge of project software (Microsoft Project or equivalent); knowledge of standard office products such as email, document generation, and spread sheets.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and other documents required to perform building renovations/remodels/repairs.
