Research Assistant Intern

Location: Waltham, MA

AstraZeneca is pioneering innovative research and exploring novel pathways across key therapeutic areas, including respiratory, inflammation and autoimmunity; cardiovascular and metabolic disease; oncology; neuroscience; and infection and vaccines.

We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related degree for an internship during the summer of 2018. This summer internship opportunity is in with the Cancer Bioscience group.

The objective of this internship is to contribute to the identification of novel combinations with lead small molecule inhibitors of epigenetic target and understand the mechanism underlying synergistic effect with combination partners.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist Scientists to maintain multiple cancer cell lines
  • Test small molecular inhibitors on their pharmacological response and investigate the biological mechanism for the synergistic effect
  • Contribute to research strategy, experimental design, and data summary

 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Preference for familiarity with basic bench-based techniques
  • Laboratory experience
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organization skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Prism, Adobe is a plus
  • Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, Senior
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
