We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or a similar field for an internship during the summer of 2018. This summer internship opportunity is with the Oncology Bioscience group. The objective of this internship will be to discover or characterize novel biology underlying drug resistance/ cancer progression and gain practical bench-based drug discovery experience in a pharmaceutical setting. Core Responsibilities: Design and perform hypothesis-driven research under the supervision of AstraZeneca Scientist Learn basic bench-based techniques and carry out experiments independently Present data/progress reports at weekly meetings   Position Requirements Position Requirements: Preference for familiarity with basic bench-based techniques including PCR, mammalian cell culture, western blot, protein/RNA/DNA extraction. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organization skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Prism, Adobe is a plus Undergraduate and Graduate students who have taken extensive hands-on laboratory-based classes.
