Share Email Opening Title Structural Engineer - Intern  Description Job Purpose: This position will be involved in a variety of structural engineering projects with a focus on commercial construction and foundation engineering, with an emphasis on design-build delivery methods. The Design Engineer will interface with a multi-disciplinary engineering team consisting of civil, structural, geotechnical, and various construction management personnel. This individual will be responsible for supporting design production including calculations and construction drawings for major design-build projects. The position may also coordinate with outside design consultants in the preparation and delivery of design projects. Duties: Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Prepare design calculations and analysis for commercial building components and various specialty foundation types including Helical Piles, Drilled Shafts, Micropiles, Rock and Soil Anchors, etc. Prepare preliminary building and foundation designs for use in project bidding. Work under supervision or Senior Design engineer or senior-level team member   Position Requirements Skills/Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in progress in Civil Engineering, Master’s Degree in progress preferred. EIT Eligible preferred Proficient with Microsoft Office Experience with Computer Programs such as AutoCAD, Inventor, LPile, GROUP, SAP2000, RISA 3D, Enercalc, and MathCAD Preferred Excellent written and verbal communications skills Highly Organized Able to work effectively within a team environment Knowledge of design standards including FHWA, NESC, IBC, ACI, AISC, ASTM, ASCE, AISC, AISI   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
