Koniag Services, Inc. (KSI) is seeking an Encase eDiscovery Analyst to join our team in Baltimore MD.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for the maintenance, operations and use of Encase eDiscovery.

  • Perform security investigations, provide forensic services to support the team, assist in the maintenance of forensic and investigative plans and procedures, and participate in security incidents, investigations, and digital forensic inquiries
  • Interface directly with internal systems within the IT architecture (i.e., parsing log data and correlating electronically stored information from multiple systems)
  • Work at a high technical level within IT environments; effectively document collection and processes and communicate findings and follow-up actions to a range of stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities to improve work flow, enhance information security practices, and expedite data retrieval and analysis for proactive and reactive investigations
  • Perform eDiscovery work utilizing defined procedures and tools
  • Manage and oversee electronic data document collections from on-premise repositories and cloud-based services
  • Search and filter collected data per instructions
  • Analyze data as required using EnCase eDiscovery
  • Collaborate with eDiscovery management, requesters, internal IT resources, and others to ascertain the appropriate solution
  • Assume accountability for the resolution of technical exceptions
  • Assist users (attorneys, paralegals, project managers, etc.) in the support of large instance of Relativity
  • Create workspaces, maintain all instance administrative needs, and assist users with troubleshooting and workflows
  • Coordinate with the IT team to ensure systems are working at optimal levels, including, but is not limited to, working with the IT Program Manager to ensure new eDiscovery tools meet established security policies, participating in the system implementation, upgrades, and patches of eDiscovery tools, and collaborating with network administrators to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Forge collaborative partnerships with diverse teams of project managers and legal professionals to meet critical deadlines
  • Identify and understand problems or issues through analysis of multiple data sources in order to draw effective conclusions and choose the most effective course of action considering the broad business impacts
  • Develop best practices models, including oversee and monitor team best practices, develop and promote standard protocols for re-occurring services, etc.
  • Provide consulting services to case teams regarding best practices for the use of legal technology
  • Provide Litigation Hold, Case Management and Data Access Request review, management and tracking across multiple platforms, including SharePoint, OneNote and Excel
  • Perform eDiscovery technical tasks used throughout the entirety of eDiscovery data lifecycle as well as generalized technical analysis and troubleshooting
  • Perform program functions in support of data access protection, including review, processing, and tracking of data access requests
  • Ensure accuracy of data loading, manipulation, and conversion by performing and documenting quality checks in accordance with specifications
  • Review process data using concordance and relativity review platforms
  • Coordinate development of documentation and deliverables, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Data Access Request Policy & Procedures.
Position Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology/Business/Technical field
  • 5+ years’ experience as an Encase eDiscovery Analyst providing eDiscovery services.

Technical Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of EnCase eDiscovery
  • EnCEP© Certification preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL (desired)
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience or working knowledge of IT security, operations, or technical support
  • Minimum 4 year of hands-on eDiscovery experience
  • Understanding of the litigation lifecycle and its impact on eDiscovery
  • Experience working with EnCase eDiscovery (Relativity a plus)
  • Experience identifying, acquiring, preserving, and analyzing digital evidence
  • Familiarity with general computer forensic practices and tools
  • Experience providing technical assistance
  • Experience conducting training for eDiscovery tools and/or concepts
  • Must be extremely proficient with computers and have at least three years’ experience with, and a working knowledge of, software applications utilized for litigation support
  • Understanding of EDRM lifecycle as managed at FDA
  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business users, managers and non-technical staff
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to write well and adapt information into required formats for documents (required)
  • Experience preparing reports, tables, graphs, and observations for presentation to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment (desired)
  • Previous experience with Federal contracting processes (desired)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks and meet tight timelines
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with legal department staff
  • Ability to describe, summarize, and document how work was performed and the results of such work
  • Ability to create, maintain and manage databases and other systems for retaining and tracking electronically stored information
  • Extensive PC skills, including Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint and SharePoint
  • Flexibility to work overtime, as needed, to include weekends, holidays, and off-hours

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, perform simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
