MedImmune is pioneering innovative research and exploring novel pathways across key therapeutic areas, including respiratory, inflammation and autoimmunity; cardiovascular and metabolic disease; oncology; neuroscience; and infection and vaccines. We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology or a related major for an internship during the summer of 2018. This internship opportunity is with the Analytical Sciences department. The objective of this internship is to develop novel bioassays for analysis of biologics. The successful intern will: Contribute to novel bioassay development Conduct feasibility and proof of concept studies for bioassay development Compare continuous vs. assay-ready cells Design experiments to develop mechanism of action reflective bioassays Determine the key aspects and critical parameter for robustness of the assay Core Responsibilities: The successful intern will be expected to: Plan and execute laboratory experiments Participate in troubleshooting and solving complex problems Analyze, summarize and interpret data Accurately document experimental details Collaborate and communicate with scientists in the team Present progress at department meeting and prepare a final poster   Position Requirements Position Requirements: Basic laboratory experience Cell culture experience is preferred but not required Aseptic handling technique Good problem-solving skills Good laboratory notebook taking skills Undergraduate Junior, Seniors Minimum GPA of 3.0+   Full-Time/Part-Time Seasonal   Location Gaithersburg, MD   This position is currently not accepting applications.
