Engineering and Automation Intern

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

MedImmune is pioneering innovative research and exploring novel pathways across key therapeutic areas, including respiratory, inflammation and autoimmunity; cardiovascular and metabolic disease; oncology; neuroscience; and infection and vaccines.

We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related major for an internship during the summer of 2018. This internship opportunity is with the Manufacturing Sciences department.

The objective of this internship is to learn and execute Automation Projects in support of clinical trial manufacturing.

Core Responsibilities:

Assisting with cGMP equipment and automation design and supporting the maximization of system uptime in clinical manufacturing facilities. This will include but not limited to:

  • Troubleshooting equipment and automation systems
  • Executing engineering projects
  • Testing new equipment
  • Coordinating engineering activities with other departments
  • Obtaining quotes and purchasing spare parts
  • Writing cGMP documentation (protocols, reports, etc.)

 
Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • MS Office skills including: Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strength in creativity and reasoning
  • Familiarity with Automation Design Principles
  • Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, Seniors
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0+
