SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the efficient operation of the Security Department on assigned shift, in accordance with the company's established policies, procedures and controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

Acts as a representative of the company, interacting with Guests and Associates in a courteous, professional manner.

Assists with the Implementation of departmental and company policies and procedures, then trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates Security Officers on assigned shift.

Patrols the casino complex and outlying properties on assigned shift, identifying potential security and/or safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate individual, to ensure the safety and protection of Guests, Associates.

Acts as back-up to Security Shift Manager and Security Officers on assigned shift, and assumes their duties when necessary.

Provides input for procedure manuals, and is responsible for the accurate documentation of all information and report completion on the assigned shift

Maintains a working knowledge of casino complex and outlying properties, as well as special events, in order to advise Guests and fellow Associates of same, whenever possible.

Assists in the daily operations of the Security Department.

Facilitates the flow of information throughout the casino complex and outlying properties by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.

Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and incident reports.

Participates in training.

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

Manage staff members as defined by the organizational structure. Providing guidance and leadership for the department. Hire, train and develop Associates. Coach, counsel or separate Associates from employment as needed.

Position Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma, general education degree (GED).

One year experience in law enforcement, casino security, regulatory, loss prevention, or risk management, with one year progressive supervisory/managerial experience.

or, Associate’s degree in related field of law enforcement, casino security, regulatory, loss prevention, or risk management with one year progressive supervisory/managerial experience required.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.

Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority.

Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.

Must be computer-literate with specific proficiency in company issued computer software.

Responsible for following all relevant DGR’s.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of associates, executives and/or community leaders.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must be able to apply common sense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to:

Talk and hear;

See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision;

Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl;

Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.

Lift and/or move objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to:

A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).

A moderate-to-loud noise level (public areas).

Second-hand cigarette/cigar smoke.

Exposed to outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold.
