Cell Culture and Fermentation Sciences Intern

We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related major for an internship during the summer of 2018. This internship opportunity is with the Cell Culture and Fermentation Sciences department.
The objective of this internship is to have the intern independently perform cell culture techniques in shake flasks and bioreactors, as well as build statistical models using Near Infrared Spectroscopy.
Day to day duties for this position are cell culture lab work, including using analytical instruments to process samples. In addition, the intern will be working with statistical software to build prediction models of the cell culture process, using near infrared spectroscopy. The intern will be responsible for documenting his/her work as well as providing updates and presenting a final presentation and poster.
