Position Mortgage Loan Closer

Description

Summary

The Mortgage Loan Closer is responsible for the day to day pipeline management and closing of all residential mortgage loans, insuring timely receipt of the packages back from the closing table and shipment of files to investors.

Key Tasks

  • Monitor daily Closing report to ensure guarantee that Closing Department policies and procedures are being followed regarding timelines expected for Closing Dept. emails going out, file reviews and closing documents going to title.
  • Achieve proficiency in all document preparation systems utilized.
  • Consistently utilize all portions of the Closing Compliance and File Audit Checklist during each step of the closing/funding process.
  • Effectively communicate with attorneys, borrowers, and co-workers in a professional and positive manner.
  • Accurately review closing disclosures and all legal documents to certify that the Banks' proper lien position and investor requirements have been properly fulfilled.
  • Order wires on closing transactions in a timely fashion so funds reach the closing agent on the day of closing.

Product Knowledge & Recommendations

  • Shows knowledge of the products and services offered by the organization
  • Reviews current accounts and customer requests to determine new products and services that will benefit the customer

Compliance & Security

  • Is aware of and complies with CRA guidelines and policies, ethics policy, and non-discrimination policy
  • Comply with BSA requirements to SARs, CTRs, OFAC, and red flags
  • Secure all documents and confidential data following the "clean desk" policy; lock computer screen and secure equipment when leaving desk or station
  • Follow all daily security procedures with entering and leaving the office
 
Position Requirements

Educational and experience requirements include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of banking customer service principles and processes
  • Ability to use mathematics to accurately compute routine transactions
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication and listening skills as well critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to use banking software; strong computer (MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel) and electronic skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, fast-growth environment
  • 3 Years Mortgage Banking Preferred

  • Is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as, viewing a computer terminal and determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned to self.
  • Is required to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word to convey detailed spoken instructions to other employees accurately.
