Cell Culture Intern

We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or related major for an internship during the summer of 2018. This internship opportunity is with the Cell Culture and Fermentation Sciences department.
The objective of this internship is to develop a better understanding of amino acid transport in CHO cells to improve culture performance. The candidate will evaluate extracellular amino acid concentrations and determine their impact on transporter expression, oxidative stress, cell growth, and productivity.
- Plan and execute laboratory studies using design of experiments
- Run 3L fed-batch bioreactors and evaluate culture performance
- Perform analytical tests and interpret data using statistical analysis
- Present progress at department meetings and prepare a final poster presentation
