Job Summary:

The Curatorial Intern will help with the research, organization and development of the opening exhibition for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The Curatorial Intern will be involved with a wide range of curatorial activities including assisting with exhibition checklists, catalogue production, and light editing of moving image montages.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Curatorial Intern will successfully execute both administrative and research-driven projects. The ideal candidate will have a rigorous approach to research, the ability to create bibliographies, organize image files, draft and edit short texts, and edit video.

 
Position Requirements
  • Graduate students who have completed their first year in an M.A. or Ph.D. program in film studies, museum studies, curatorial studies, or related fields are welcome to apply.
  • Excellent writing and research skills, a keen attention to detail, and a good sense of humor.
  • Strong interest in curating, film, animation, writing and research.
  • Japanese language skills highly desired.

This internship is part of the Academy Gold Program, an 8-week internship enhancement program that incorporates learning opportunities including an intensive two-day orientation, weekly panels, exclusive networking events, workshops, screenings, and mentorship opportunities with Academy members.
