We are currently seeking candidates who are working towards obtaining a Bachelor degree in Engineering primarily Biomedical, Mechanical, or related Engineering field for an internship during the summer of 2018. This summer internship opportunity is with the Drug Delivery & Device Development group.
The aim of this project is to characterize a visual imaging system (Cognex) for drug product and create a procedure to analyze the captured images. Then, the goal is implementing the technology into an automated visual machine. The automated visual machine will have capability to analyze drug product particulation, turbidity, color, and other characteristics in a repeatable manner. This project will have an impact on the device development, drug product process development, and analytical sciences groups by filling a current gap in technology capabilities.
Additionally, the intern will summarize their project and experiences through presentations, a technical summary report and an intern seminar.
Work closely with Device Development engineers to characterize new technologies, design experiments and analyze data.
Required Technical Skills:
- CAD, Mechanical Force Analysis equipment, statistical analysis, problem solving, design of experiment, image analysis
