Boundless is currently seeking a Development Manager. The Development Manager will work closely with our Leadership Team, our Boards, and our team members to lead key areas of development and fundraising activities for the organization. The core of this position requires a motivated and motivating team builder and organization developer.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and implement strategies to identify, steward and secure philanthropic gifts from client/resident families, local businesses, foundations and philanthropic individuals.
  • Assist with all philanthropic communications for all communications channels working in strong collaboration with the Marketing Manager and following brand standard guidelines (i.e. direct mail campaigns or targeted solicitations)
  • Manage a mid-level donor portfolio including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies including in-person visits, tours, letters and electronic connections in conjunction with the Vice President of Advancement & Communications
  • Lead and complete all development mailings including updating lists and preparation of communications
  • Working with others at Boundless and its affiliated agencies, this person is responsible for oversight of the fundraising database (currently Bloomerang), ensuring a Moves Management is tracked and entered by all in the database and affiliations/actions that advance prospect and donor relationships are complete.
  • Provide updated philanthropic reports to leadership team to ensure targets are met
  • Work closely with the volunteers to ensure annual events meet or exceed their philanthropic goals.
  • Research, write, submit and present grant applications for specific affiliates. Manage and track grant funds, grant calendar and coordinate grant requirements with the end user of funds. Facilitate all compliance related to grants.
  • Assist in the coordination and management of volunteers from the local community for the affiliate through a multitude of fundraising activities.
  • Provides high quality service to the organization’s constituents by fielding questions, solving gift problems and investigating discrepancies in the donor database.
  • Manages budget for development
 
Position Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  1. BA/BS degree required.
  2. Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive responsibility in development field with a proven track record in building relationships and securing resources from multiple channels (ie, direct mail, grants, events, etc.). Comparable experience will be considered.
  3. Collaborative and team player
  4. Proven track record of building and implementing systems and structures that support significant growth.
  5. Solid, persuasive verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to deliver inspiring and succinct presentations and conduct productive meetings.
  6. The ideal candidate will possess very good judgment, strong emotional intelligence, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  7. Authentic persona, highly energetic and a natural collaborator.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. 3-5 years working in the field of developmental disabilities
  2. CFRE or similar certification
