2018 USVI Teachers for Reader/Evaluator position

Dear USVI Educator:

Measurement Incorporated is seeking teachers to fill the temporary position of Reader/Evaluator during the upcoming scoring season. We are a diverse company engaged in educational research, test development, and the scoring of tests administered throughout the world. Our company has grown to be the largest of its kind by providing consistent and reliable results to our clients. We are able to do so through the efforts of a professional and flexible staff.

If you enter an independent contractor agreement with Measurement Incorporated as a reader/evaluator, you will be placed into our qualified reader pool for the upcoming scoring season. The hiring process will take place in late-January 2018 for assignments starting in late March 2018. If you are hired as a Reader/Evaluator, you will be placed into our qualified reader pool. You will be eligible to work on the portions of the Smarter Balanced project, Brief Writes, Math or Research, that fit your qualifications and schedule in March, April, and May.

Working Hours:

  • Work shifts are Monday through Friday.

  • Morning Only: 8:30 a.m.–12 noon

  • Afternoon Only: 12:45 p.m.–4:15 p.m.

  • Full Day: morning and afternoon hours combined

  • Evening: 6:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.

  • You may work a Day (full or partial) OR an Evening shift, but you may not combine an Evening shift with a full or partial Day shift.

  • You choose the time zone for your work shift.

  • Hours can be modified to accommodate busy teachers; however, all scoring is supervised and therefore needs to be completed within the hours when scoring leadership is present.

What you Need to Know

  • Each project has its own scoring criteria; therefore, we conduct paid training at the beginning of each project.

  • Reader/Evaluators must be able to accept and apply the scoring criteria as directed and maintain consistent and reliable scoring results throughout the project.

  • Reader/Evaluators must be willing to operate in a repetitive task situation while maintaining confidentiality and project security.

  • Beginning pay: $12.95 per hour.

  • In some locations, a limited number of educators who are currently teaching in USVI schools are eligible for higher pay and modified hours.

  • If selected, you will be asked to sign an independent contractor agreement with Measurement Incorporated.

  • To receive payment, you will be asked to submit a timesheet at the end of each two week period. You will receive payment on or before the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month and upon the receipt of your timesheet.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent foreign degree verified by an educational equivalency agency recognized by NACES

  • Certified to teach in the US Virgin Islands

  • Currently teaching in the US Virgin Island public school system

  • Completion of a successful interview and satisfactory professional references (new applicants)

  • Access to a home computer, high speed internet access, and a work area that can be secured
