Pine Rest is hiring an Inpatient ClinDoc Analyst for our Epic implementation. Pine Rest’s Inpatient ClinDoc Analyst is responsible for facilitating the use and continuous improvement of Epic in order to maximize its effective use to meet organizational objectives. This position will oversee all activities related to Epic including support, upgrades, user access, testing, documentation, implementation and training. In addition, the Inpatient ClinDoc Analyst will ensure the organization’s compliance with regulatory guidelines. Duties are performed in accordance with Pine Rest’s policies and procedures following the organizational standards for ethical business conduct. The Inpatient ClinDoc Analyst is seen as a positive role model and team member and participates in committees, meetings, in-services, and activities. The following are general characteristics of this job classification. Specific duties and areas of responsibility for this position within each department shall be defined by the department manager or director.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as the primary support contact for the application's end-users
  • Identifying issues that arise in their application area as well as issues that impact other application teams, and working to resolve them
  • Guiding work flow design, building and testing the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software
  • Identifying and implementing requested changes to the system
  • Serving as a liaison between end users' work flow needs and Epic implementation staff
  • Maintaining regular communication with Epic representatives, including participating in weekly project team meetings
  • Working with Epic representatives, your organization's business community, and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's business needs in regards to the project deliverables and timeline
  • Developing an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization's work flows by attending site visits, validation sessions, and other integrated sessions
  • Participating in training and working with end users
  • Troubleshooting problems and questions
  • Reviewing the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership
  • Holding weekly communications with team members to discuss the status of deliverables, shared issues, end-user concerns, budget, and upcoming milestones

 
Position Requirements

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of health care, business, computer science, or information systems and three to five (3-5) years’ of work experience in a health care setting. Bachelor’s Degree or above is strongly preferred.
  • Inpatient ClinDoc and Smartforms certification is required.

About the Organization Pine Rest is a nonprofit, free standing, behavioral health system founded in 1910 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This comprehensive behavioral health center, coupled with the Pine Rest network of 19 outpatient clinics and satellite offices in Michigan and Iowa, provide individualized and group therapy for people of all ages and all levels of need. Pine Rest clinicians offer therapeutic services in behavioral health for people of all ages and all levels of need across the continuum of care within a Christian framework.

Pine Rest has a 200-bed inpatient hospital program with a 36-bed child and adolescent inpatient and a large partial hospital program for adolescents. Additionally, Pine Rest has many inpatient services for adults, including: a 28-bed psychiatric-medical unit in an acute care hospital, four 22-bed adult inpatient units each designed for a different level of acuity, a 22-bed co-occurring substance use disorder adult inpatient unit, a large adult partial hospital program, and a 26-bed older adult inpatient unit.

The Pine Rest Community and Residential Services Division also provides a wide array of services. With over 220 residential beds across a variety of programs, including treatment for substance use disorders, homes for adults with intellectual and developmental disorders, adults with mental illness, and a program for youth aged 11-18 with extensive trauma histories focusing on trauma treatment and life skills programming.

Other campus based services include a forensic psychiatry clinic, a psychological consultation testing center, an attention deficit disorders clinic, an autism spectrum disorders clinic, and a large neuromodulation clinic which provides TMS and ECT services.

The medical staff includes over 70 psychiatrists and other MDs/DOs, more than 120 fully licensed psychologists, more than 250 licensed masters-level social workers, and 30 PAs/NPs.
