JOB SUMMARY The Manufacturing Engineer will independently develop preliminary and detailed manufacturing plans of company product lines for application to contracted programs, bid and proposal and internal research and development activities. Supports the production area to implement and sustain manufacturing processes, tooling, assembly cell design, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Independently applies a high degree of creative ability to eliminate waste in any and all processes that helps lower product costs. Works in liaison with development engineering, quality assurance, and test engineering on preliminary and regular program and production challenges. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Establish manufacturing strategies and practices implementing and sustaining innovative methods, tooling, and equipment in support of manufacturing operations. Develop detailed plans, procedures, routings and rework addendums and performs other manufacturing tasks as required by the assigned program or project. Work closely with the design team in the development phase ensuring the design satisfies requirements and is cost effective and practical to produce. Technical advisor for supply chain that includes circuit card assembly, printed wiring boards, sheet metal, plastics, and magnetics assemblies. Familiarity with FAA Certification, documentation and testing requirements for class 2 and 3 equipment as required by 14 CFR Part 21 and 25 a plus. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline required from four-year college or university and two years related experience.
