The Market Development Field Manager will be responsible for driving market strategies and plans in accordance with corporate initiatives by performing the following duties personally and through subordinate managers or contractors as required. Strategies and tactics are initiated and implemented to fully leverage the strengths of the organization while optimizing results.


Market Pull Strategies - Execution of market pull programs including but not limited to product training and education, demonstrations and product sampling directly in the field with contractors, articulating marketing messages in both English and Spanish in accordance with market requirements. This manager will work independently as well as in concert with the internal sales team and manufacturer's reps. The manager will also work within retail stores and at trade or consumer events as required. The Manager is responsible for organizing the activities and supplies needed for these programs. This individual is also responsible for documenting these programs, capturing both quantitative information and market insights that may lead to innovative product development, new marketing/ distribution strategies and increased sales.

Sales Growth - Through the development and effective execution of these programs, the Market Development Manager's efforts will positively impact sales by directly influencing end-users.

Intelligence - Provide Company and key national accounts with market leadership information for pertinent meetings, annual customer reviews and product development efforts, serving as the "eyes and ears' of the k

Communications - Present goals and outcomes to internal and external customers and stakeholders. Negotiate contract terms with outside agencies and business partners as required.

Budget - Manage the expense budget, optimizing all resources.

***This person will work from a home office which can be located in the Midwest Region - preferably Chicago. This person will be reponsible for meeting their weekly goals and for developing this role as a model for other parts of the country.

Position Requirements


·        Must be fluent in Spanish

·        5+ years as a painting contractor or experience within the paint industry in sales and/or product marketing within contractor channels.

·        Proven track record of achieving results and an understanding of corporate strategic planning process.

·        Entrepreneurial drive to take a business into new, uncharted territory.

·        Motivation to get the job done to exceed performance standards.

·        Demonstrated success in managing teams of people or demonstrated ability to grow into a managerial role.

·        Strong computer skills including MS Office

·        Strong presentation skills

·        Ability to travel overnight, 50-75% of the time
