Beverage Manager FT/RO

Responsible for ensuring all operations of the Beverage Department and associate performances are in compliance with Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures mission, objectives and Gaming Regulations.

h Enforce performance standards policies and procedures as they relate to the beverage department.

h Monitor beverage service on casino floor.

h Ensure smooth and efficient operations on a continual basis.

h Ensure that the highest possible standards for guest services and Associate relations are maintained and carried out in a fair and equitable manner.

h Comply with all beverage, health, liquor and safety regulations, as well as all applicable beverage, Tribal, Federal, State, and Local laws.

h Responsible for liquor control and ordering for Venue.

h Assist Shift Supervisors with scheduling of Associates and ensuring correct staffing levels and adjustments are made in accordance with guest needs.

h Monitor job performance of all beverage Associates and provides feedback to aid the Associates in developing and enhancing skills.

h Provide input to Director of Food and Beverage concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.

h Review financial statements: forecast revenue and labor figures for beverage department; maintain proper inventory control.

h Review and approve all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign and discipline all beverage Associates in a fair and equitable manner.

h Maximize cost effectiveness within the beverage department by ensuring compliance with established budget, labor and revenue benchmarks.

h Responsible for listening to, evaluating and assuring control of guest grievances and settles them without delay.

h Responsible for promoting positive Guest Relations through prompt, courteous and efficient services.

h Possess knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (Federal, State, Compact, etc.) and attendant regulations as well as Mille Lacs Corporate Ventures internal controls, policies and procedures.

h Ensure accurate weekly inventory.

h Responsible for maintaining open communication throughout the venue, through monthly staff meetings, weekly supervisory meeting, and daily pre-shift meeting.

h Promotes self-development by participating in Learning and Development programs.

h Sets priorities for all Supervisors and provides assistance as needed.

h Promote departmental and property wide promotions on a continual basis.

h Any and all other duties as assigned.


h Maintain a consistent and regular attendance record.

h Encourage mutual respect among associates by setting positive examples consistent with company policies.

h Maintain an attitude and philosophy consistent with the company mission, vision and values.

h Maintain a professional reputation in the company and community.


h Six (6) years progressive Beverage Operations experience, with five (5) years of Supervisory/Managerial experience required and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the hospitality industry with emphasis on Food & Beverage.

h Two (2) years alcohol service with one (1) year of Supervisory experience in a venue that serves alcohol required.

h Serv-Safe Certification preferred (Certification is required within one (1) year of placement).

h Alcohol Awareness Certification (CARE) preferred (Certification is required within one (1) year of placement).


h If required, must be able to pass company pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test.

h Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority, and follow all relevant DGR's.

h Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.


h Must be able to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group situations, and to moderate-sized gatherings of associates and/or executives.

h Must be able to read and interpret financial reports, contracts and legal documents.


h Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, percentages, common fractions, and decimals.


h Must be able to apply commonsense understanding to a variety of situations, in order to collect data, analyze facts, and determine appropriate response.


While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to:

h Talk and hear;

h See and adjust focus to include close, distance, color, depth, and peripheral vision;

h Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch and/or crawl;

h Handle objects, tools and controls; reach with arms and hands;

h Lift, push, pull and/or move objects weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.


While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly exposed to:

h A low-to-moderate noise level (offices).

h A moderate-to-loud noise level (operations areas).

h Second-hand cigarette / cigar smoke.

h Chemical solutions such as cleaning and polishing compounds.
