Systems Engineer

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for analysis of requirements, coordinating the development, testing of product software and release to production for electronic powertrain control modules.

Main duties:

  • Performs analysis of customer requirements
  • Coordinates the software-hardware integration.
  • Develops test cases.
  • Perform electrical and (mainly black-box) software tests.
  • Analyzes customer issue tickets, tries to reproduce them and coordinates the resolution.
  • Develops documentation based on the requirements : system design, test plans, test results, release documentation.
  • Provides technical support to customers.
  • Releases the engineering work products to the manufacturing databases.
  • Provides technical support to manufacturing.

Essential requirements:

  • Education: 4 or 5 year University degree in Electrical Engineering or an associated field.

Work experience / Skills

  • Microcontroller and hardware knowledge.
  • Proficiency in the use of electrical measurement tools
  • The following skills are considered an advantage
  • Previous experience in Automotive electronics
  • Vehicle communication (CAN/Flexray …)
  • UDS/OBD
  • Knowledge of C and scripting tools (Perl/Python)
  • Knowledge of embedded software
  • Knowledge of V-cycle (Ideally Automotive SPICE/ ISO 15504)
  • Knowledge of Safety standards (ideally ISO26262)
  • Must be detail focused and have good communication skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving capability
  • Fluency in English is required. French and especially German would be an advantage
