Description

Eagle Harbor Solutions, LLC is looking for a very highly qualified candidate with current, broad technical skills surrounding cloud technologies and approaches, with the ability to serve in a technical leadership capacity in a Department of Defense wide effort.

This position is an intersection between Information Technology (IT) System Engineering, IT infrastructure architect, and IT life cycle management. A deep knowledge of DoD Systems Acquisition will be very beneficial. The successful candidate will be helping guide a large cloud effort from infancy through operational deployment. The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical advisor to the government executive overseeing this Department of Defense wide cloud effort. The successful candidate may guide more junior staff in their efforts and may lead technical discussions with government or contracted personnel from disparate backgrounds, and needs to have a polished ability to communicate complex IT architecture issues to non-IT proficient personnel as well as to highly proficient industry leaders. The candidate must be comfortable and proficient in meeting with senior government executive customers and translating Department wide goals into actionable requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist the Government in planning and overseeing cloud efforts on a large scale.
  • Technical advisor on pros and cons of potential approaches.
  • Consult with government users and gather requirements for Cloud implementations.
  • Analyze customer’s business needs and help customer translate into technical requirements.
  • Develop technical documentation.
  • Analyze and translate requirements into technical and functional specifications.
  • Leading design and development activities, and providing technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Incorporating new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Ensuring that all control gates are met on schedule.
  • Interfacing with the government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
  • Briefings to the government as well as other key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility.
  • Assist other team members in other specialties as needed to accomplish the overall mission.
 
Position Requirements

Education, Experience & Skills:

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret Clearance and have the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ relevant experience required with DoD, or other Federal government agency.
  • Deep comprehension of the state of the art in cloud technologies and their application.
  • Powerful analytical and problem-solving skills – including the ability to develop solutions in new and creative ways.
  • Ability to combine knowledge and expertise from diverse areas in new/unique ways to solve problems.
  • Strong ability to lead disparate teams from different groups form consensus
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to brief senior executives with little notice.
  • Comfortable in a fast paced/dynamic environment.
  • Ability to function in an action officer type role when needed.

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
