PacArctic is hiring a full time Program Manager to work on site supporting PAC and our government customer in the Boulder, CO area.

The PacArctic on-site program manager (PM) for the Boulder, CO site will supervise the contract personnel and have the authority to represent the company to the Government on a daily basis. The program manager shall be responsible for delegating work, assuring that quality work products are produced in a timely manner, recruiting, interviewing and hiring for vacancies, and other supervisory and management tasks.

The PM is expected to work and communicate well with all NOAA personnel which includes Government employees, other contractors providing on-site support, and employees from the university cooperative institutes (e.g. the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA), the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Environmental Sciences (CIRES) and the Joint Institute for the Study of the Atmosphere and Ocean (JISAO)).

The PM must be able to manage teams of individuals and:

  • Be familiar with environmental modeling codes, tools, frameworks, methodologies, tutorials, and other activities of high scientific quality to meet task objective(s) and are developed consistent with Government protocols, standards and policies.
  • Must be able to assist with the development, operation and monitoring of research systems and equipment are of high quality, meet task objective(s), and are developed consistent with Government protocols, standards and policies.
  • Must be able to research is of high scientific quality, meets task objective(s), and is conducted consistent with Government protocols, standards and policies.
  • Science communications activities are conducted on time and of high quality in content and transmission through various media.
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant scientific field
  • 10 years of similar experience, knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Must have experience managing a team of individuals

Working Environment & Conditions

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The work load may require the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Includes travel to local, remote and out of state locations.
