THIS IS A TEMPORARY TERMED POSITION (approximately 6 months)

The College Recruiter will be a contract position working for the period January to June 2018 to help support the diversity and inclusion efforts under the Academy Gold Intern Program.

The Academy Gold program launched in June 2017 with over 20 entertainment and media companies participating in hosting interns from multi-cultural and under-represented communities looking for an entre into the industry. The Academy hosted nearly 70 students in an all inclusive industry-wide education and networking initiative aimed at broadening awareness in film, television, production, finance, marketing, screenwriting and other disciplines with the goal of enabling students to gain a strategic foothold into the industry for future career opportunities.

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility for the College Recruiter is to develop external relationships and serve as primary liaison with the HBCUs nation-wide and other universities and colleges to help identify, attract, recruit and place qualified interns with our participating partner companies who are needing assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with staff and external partner companies and recruiters to evaluate and select key schools for recruitment activities.
  • Develops custom program strategies and processes -- paying particular attention to diversity initiatives, and benchmark best practices.
  • Runs the internship experience for students, which includes the application process, pre-screening, interviews, post-evaluation process, recommendation, selection and placement, and onboarding.
  • Works with Talent Development and Inclusion department to adhere to Academy guidelines and program requirements.
  • Works with senior line management and talent segment cohort teams to establish annual campus relations strategies and successfully meeting annual goals.
  • Cultivates and maintains tight-knit relationships with a variety of external constituents (e.g. campus career services staff, academic department staff, vendors, student leaders, etc).
  • Works closely with partner companies and students to ensure Academy Gold selection process is adhered to.
  • Manages metrics and data collection for trend analysis as needed.
  • Evaluates quality of intern, conversions to FTE, offer/acceptance, etc.
  • Assists with onboarding and overall follow up with selected students.
  • Works in partnership with Human Resources, Education, Programming and Talent Development and Inclusion on identifying and coordinating ongoing Mentorship opportunities as needed.

 
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 4 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience), preferably within recruitment or human resources.
  • 3 years of staffing experience in an energizing environment, ideally with direct responsibility for college and intern programs.
  • Interviewing and selection experience (campus preferred) and knowledge of employment law.
  • Knowledge of EEO/AAP and diversity recruiting programs.

Candidate must also possess the following characteristics:

  • Organizational Skills: Utilizes time, energy, and resources to manage priorities independently, stay on track, and achieve goals in a timely manner.
  • Technology Skills: Navigate and learn new technology systems, equipment, and computer programs needed to fulfill communication, customer service, and business needs and expectations. Excel Proficiency required.
