Share Email Opening Title Minister of Youth & Young Adult Engagement, Close date: February 2, 2018  Ministry Team Faith Formation   Reports To Team Leader   FLSA Status Exempt   Salary Grade 8   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Category National and Global Ministries, Cleveland, Ohio   Starting Salary   Description GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Minister of Youth and Young Adult Engagement serves as a liaison for conference/local church staff who are engaged in youth and young adult ministry. To cultivate wider church opportunities for youth and young adult engagement incorporating the mission, vision, and purpose of The United Church of Christ for the purpose of theological and spiritual formation. LOCATION: The Minister will be based in the Cleveland office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Curate an on-line forum of faith formation resources for local church youth and adult ministry including but not limited to books, curriculum, Confirmation resources, websites, blogs, conferences, organizations, webinars, on line learning, and videos. Serve as national liaison for youth and young adult initiatives throughout the breadth of the denomination. Develop leadership, education, and opportunities for youth and young adults in the wider church. Serve as a resource for the promotion and amplification of youth and young adult voices throughout the wider church and on public platforms. Curate the stories of innovative youth and adult ministry practices through Inspiring Model of Ministry events and other means. Work with the Faith Formation Team of the national setting of the United Church of Christ in all team projects and goals.   Position Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform successfully in this position. Graduate degree in theology. Ordained or Approved Pending Call in the United Church of Christ. Experience in local church youth and/or young adult faith formation Self-starter Good understanding of social media and web technology. Demonstrated excellent people skills. Desire and sensitivity to working in diverse racial, ethnic, cultural and religious settings with commitment to diversity in the workplace as well as in one’s understanding of mission. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegially as well as independently and confidentially. Ability to take direction and follow through on commitments Organizational and project management skills. Ability to travel within the United States and globally, if necessary.
