CLASS SUMMARY:
Transports clients to Day Services and other programs on regular basis. Delivers confidential inter-office mail, correspondence, cash receipts, bank deposits, board packages and other confidential materials between site offices, the administrative offices, post office and bank.

II. LATITUDE: New duties are accompanied by clear guidelines and reviewed after completion. Recurring duties are performed independently. Incumbent must work within guidelines of programs and refer unusual matters to the appropriate supervisor.
III. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: None
IV. INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: Work involves contact with co-workers, supervisors and clients.
V. DIFFICULTY: Work involves transport of clients and ensuring that they are delivered in a timely manner to the appropriate work sites or programs. Work involves correct distribution and handling of inter-office mail, medical records, cash receipts and bank deposits, and ensuring that they are delivered in a timely manner to the appropriate person or department.
VI. COMMUNICATIONS: Work involves verbal communication with co-workers, supervisors and clients.
VII. EQUIPMENT/FACILITIES RESPONSIBILITY: Incumbent is responsible for the safe operation of a vehicle in the transport of clients and distribution of mail.
VIII. WORKING CONDITIONS: Incumbent is exposed to clients while visiting client facilities and site offices. Incumbent operates a vehicle in inclement weather conditions.
IX. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA'S):
Thorough knowledge of state vehicular traffic laws and the safe operation automotive vehicles.
Good knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and common mechanical problem symptoms.
Good knowledge of agency site locations.
Ability to maintain good working relationship with staff and clients.
Good knowledge of proper mail handling procedures.
Ability to receive and understand written and oral instructions.
Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals including clients, staff and general public.
X. LICENSURE: Valid Virginia Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
XI. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CLASS (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY):
Picks up and delivers clients to and from Day Services and other programs.
Makes bank deposit drops in bank Night Depository.
Picks up, prepares and delivers mail between agency offices.
Picks up and delivers cash bags.
Posts and delivers mail to the U. S. Post Office.
Picks up and delivers office supplies between vendors and agency.
Does related work as required.
Operates vehicles on a daily basis.
