Licensure Compliance Specialist

General Position Summary:

The Licensure Compliance Specialist will play a key role to facilitate the license verification for all MedExpress clinical staff and regulatory requirements for all MedExpress providers for Control Substance Registrations/Controlled Dangerous Substance Registrations. This position will ensure a streamlined process of license verification and regulatory requirements for Controlled Dangerous Substance registration across the organization. This position will coordinate a seamless verification process that is completed in a timely manner and is communicated to our Center Managers, operations and compliance teams.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Drive project management and coordinate key activities within each phase of the licensure verification and Controlled Dangerous Substance Registration process.
  • Proactively identify potential licensing processing gaps that impact staffing schedules.
  • Suggest mitigations to risk and actions needed to close open issues in the licensure verification and Controlled Dangerous Substance registration process.
  • Deliver consistent communication to Center Managers throughout the licensure verification process. This role involves communication to Center Managers and Area Managers of Clinical Operations, as well as key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Commitment to process improvement by always looking for ways to improve current processes and proactively communicate ideas and suggestions with team members and management.
  • Maintains knowledge of current licensure regulations and requirements for all clinical staff and Controlled Substance requirements for providers.
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in credentials verification and/or licensure activities required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, Excel, verification sources, and experience in online research, credentialing software; IntelliCred preferred.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills, provide attention to accuracy and detail, and be able to prioritize activities and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with diverse individuals and groups are needed, including maintaining composure during stressful situations
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to communicate with all levels including providers and executive stakeholders to provide status updates necessary.

Working Conditions:

Non-Center Based. Requires: the ability to sit at a computer for hours at a time (with some bending and stooping), travel to Centers (if so, the noise level is moderate and there is potential for exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens), and ability to lift 50 lbs.
