City Manager, City of Randleman 

Description The City of Randleman is seeking a City Manager. The next City Manager is expected to be a leader. The City enjoys seasoned and professional department heads and is also in good financial condition. Therefore, the City seeks a candidate with demonstrated skills in team leadership, superior interpersonal management, and project management skills. The Board appreciates a candid communicator of independent thought as an advocate of the community. The next City Manager should be familiar with concepts of growth management especially related to road system improvements and utilities improvements. A focus of future attention will be attracting, retaining, and expanding businesses through advocacy and understanding of the business environment. Specific areas of business expansion include hospitality and restaurants. The City has a strong relationship with two Chambers of Commerce. Grantsmanship will be helpful in this work. The City of Randleman has a general fund of $5,113,500 and a water and sewer fund of $2,421,200 for a total budget of 7.5 million dollars. Services are delivered by 60 full-time employees in the departments of Administration, Fire, Parks & Recreation, Planning & Zoning, Police, Public Works, Library, and Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The basic desired qualifications include a bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field. A candidate may distinguish themselves with a master degree. The City seeks an experienced public administrator with five (5) years of progressive experience, preferably in NC municipal administration, including planning and directing the delivery of public services. The City places an emphasis on the Manager being a member of the ICMA and/or NCCCMA. The Board supports and encourages the Manager to be or become an ICMA credentialed manager within a reasonable period of being employed.

Randleman is great place to work and play and the Board of Alderman expect the City Manager to reside in Randleman but arrangements and timing are negotiable.

The salary for this position is negotiable based upon the candidate's qualifications and experience, anticipated salary is between $65,000 and $85,000, and is supplemented by an excellent benefit package.
