Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Two (2) years’ experience in building maintenance and repair.
  2. One (1) year experience with cleaning procedures, equipment and materials.
  3. High School Diploma or GED.
  4. Knowledgeable and skilled in carpentry, painting, and minor repairs in electrical, fire safety, plumbing and HVAC systems.
  5. Knowledgeable of applicable federal, state and tribal health and OSHA and safety codes.
  6. Physically fit - able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time; able to bend/lift/twist and maneuver up to 50lbs; able to work in confined spaces and able to use continual use of back, legs, arms, hands and fingers.
  7. Flexible schedule - able to work weekends, holidays and all shifts.
  8. Strong and effective communication skills - verbally able to provide instruction, respond to questions, and read written directions in English.
  9. Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  10. Requires clearance of a criminal history background check.
  11. Must be at least 18 years of age.
 
Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the routine maintenance of the hotel and RV facilities. Duties include day-to-day upkeep and repair of guest rooms and public areas; minor electrical, plumbing and HVAC needs; swimming pools and the preventative maintenance program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensure that the hotel and RV properties are operationally safe and sound, for guests and employees.
  2. Exhibits WRC service standards at all times - sincere greeting, eye contact, smile, proximity rules, uniform standards, anticipate guest needs, etc.
  3. Promotes and adheres to safety rules and regulations at all times, to protect guests and employees from injury, risks or hazards. Promptly report safety concerns to Utility Maintenance Supervisor.
  4. Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance needs in guest rooms and public areas of the hotel and RV park as needed, including leaky faucets, replace light bulbs, clean PTAC filters, minor furniture/furnishings repair, exhaust fans, minor plumbing, flooring and floor coverings care, walls, interior windows, etc.
  5. Oversee and maintain operational needs and cleanliness of hotel public areas: front desk, hallways, vending areas, pool, sauna and restrooms, including vacuum, cleaning, dusting and repairs.
  6. Monitor and maintain boiler room, electrical panels and water valves for optimum efficiency and safety and immediately notify Utility Maintenance Supervisor of any operational concerns or needs.
  7. During urgent/emergency situations, quickly stabilize the area while protecting guest/employee safety.
  8. Maintain the public areas of the swimming pools for safety and cleanliness - mopping, sanitizing, inspecting furniture/furnishes for safe use, cleaning windows, removing soiled towels, replaces fresh towels, etc. Immediately notify Utility Maintenance Supervisor of any hazards noticed in the pool areas - light bulbs out, heaters not working, unusual chemical fumes, etc.
  9. Maintains inventory of cleaning chemicals, including MSDS logs, and equipment and supplies. Shall provide Utility Maintenance Supervisor with regular inventory reports, and any recommendations, or concerns. Maintain the storage rooms in a clean, organized manner for easy retrieval and accountability of supplies and equipment.
  10. Oversees and perform heavy cleaning duties - shampooing carpets, stripping/waxing of floors, shampooing furniture, removing/replacing drapes for cleaning, etc.
  11. Develop and follow a preventative maintenance schedule for the hotel and RV park, including monthly, quarterly, annual, and as appropriate, seasonal needs. Ensure that staff are aware of and perform the heavy cleaning and preventative maintenance needs and procedures as scheduled.
  12. Coordinate structural repair needs with the Utility Maintenance Supervisor and or Hotel Manager and facility maintenance, using established work order procedures.
  13. Provide routine maintenance of washers and dryers at Hotel and RV Park, defer any mechanical needs to Utility Maintenance Supervisor.
  14. Ensure that operation of equipment, tools and materials are handled in a safe manner.
  15. Comply with regulatory laws, employee handbook, department policy and procedures, safety codes, etc.
  16. Promotes a clean, safe and healthy work environment for employees and guest. Promptly reports all concerns to Utility Maintenance Supervisor.
  17. Promote internal guest service standards through courteous and respectful behavior.
  18. Participate and attend designated meetings, training, activities, etc., as directed.
  19. Conduct routine checks of pool/ spa for chemical balance and temperature then document data. Report any service needs to Utility Maintenance Supervisor
  20. Other related duties as assigned.

 
Salary $11.00-$16.00 Hourly
