Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Working with a team of welders who travel to customer site locations in the field.These locations will be domestic and International.The sites will be Pipe fabrication shops, and Power and Refinery construction and maintenance field locations.The purpose of visiting these sites would be to perform demonstrations, installation, operator system training, and evaluating applications based on Pipe Welding Products.You will also be conducting scheduled training for customers and Miller Sales and Distributor personnel.

  • Regular phone contact with Miller District Managers to develop sales leads and follow up with customers and distributors on sales status.

  • Fielding customer phone inquiries qualifying sales leads, evaluating applications and providing customers applications and systems support.

  • Assisting in product development.You will provide input to enhance the design of products based on information obtained through working with the end user welding customer and observing how they perform their work.You will also be assigned to a team that will perform product field testing on new products.

  • Perform weld testing on current new released product and software version and revisions.

  • Work with Applications engineering on development of new weld programs and also perform performance tests on all existing weld programs we provide in our products.

  • Responsible for the design and manufacture of shipping crates used to transport product to and from field locations where we are providing demonstrations and training on equipment.

  • Responsible for procuring the necessary materials used when providing training and demonstrations of products to customers at their locations and when hosting customers at our lab facility in Appleton.

  • Ensuring the Products are current and in working condition in our lab and also demonstration containers.

  • Build and maintain relationships with our End User Customers.

  • Working hours while in Appleton are 7:30AM to 4PM Monday through Friday

Position Requirements

  • Journeyman status in pipe welding with 7 years of welding experience in the industrial pipe welding industry

  • Proven understanding of all pipe welding processes and applications and the ability to weld pipe in all positions with an acceptable x-ray quality result

  • Capable of demonstrating, presenting and facilitating in front of small groups

  • 50% or more travel required in North America and International locations
