GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Provides speech therapy services to clients of Pathfinder Schools, Inc. according to a written medical physician's prescription/referral, and according to an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides individual speech therapy to clients in the areas of language, articulation, and oral-motor/feeding.
2. Performs evaluations to determine need for services in the areas of language, articulation, and oral-motor/feeding.
3. Develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans as needed.
4. Records accurate client treatment/billing information.
5. Attends initial, annual, and semi-annual conferences with client's families as scheduled.
6. Participates in Team meetings with educational and professional staff.
7. Consults with and provides training as necessary to medical and educational professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents regarding client care.
8. Informs Therapy Services Coordinator of supply, materials, and equipment needs.
9. Serves as clinical instructor to speech-language pathology students as assigned.
10. Supervises other speech pathologists during the clinical fellowship year.
11. Attends continuing education workshops with consideration for needs of the agency.
12. Develops appropriate compensatory communication aids for clients as necessary for use in the classroom and at home.
13. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
