JOB SUMMARY

The Supplier Quality Engineer's mission is to champion AES ability to conform to our specifications/processes and comply with all applicable industry standards and regulations. We do this by attending to systems that error proof operations and metrics that monitor progress and, as necessary, course correct. We are committed to our process improvement and error correction tools in our support of our Quality Philosophy.

Position requires knowledge of engineering principles and quality assurance, and understanding of other engineering disciplines, required to develop effective recommendations for quality assurance (understand of the internal company ins and outs).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Understand requirements from the company QMS and industry standards such as AS9100, and government regulations.

Audit Supplier Quality Systems and assess their improvement paths and corrective actions.

Perform Quality Engineering activities for both Production and New Product Development.

Maintain our goal of successfully meeting customer and regulatory requirements. As we improve our efficiency, it must not come at the expense of meeting our aerospace quality standards.

Travel to supplier locations to perform quality audits.

Familiar with manufacturing, design, material and process engineering on hardware problem areas and in coordination with other personnel taking expedient action to resolve problems.

Proficiency in using the QA organization toolset (e.g. Omnify, Intuitive, QAS, Report Tools, Intranet)

Assure the presence of inspection techniques for parts and assemblies, emphasizing approaches to product verification to increase inspection productivity and effectiveness.

Serve as member of Configuration Control Board and Material Review Board on assigned program.

Knowledgeable in the company CAPA system. Understand the roles and responsibilities of the parties involved in corrective actions and be able to communicate those clearly.

Anticipate problem areas in quality assurance and take corrective action to minimize or eliminate probability of problems occurring.

Prepare quality assurance plans in support of proposals. Make internal presentations on programs summarizing quality program status.

Perform internal audits.

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering field required. Prefer 2-5 years' experience in operations, development, program management or quality in a regulated industry environment.
