Description

Job Purpose

Responsible for leading and managing SCM Coordinator staff and processes, including all procurement and administrative functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive)

Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Collaborate with SCM leadership team to establish goals and objectives for all direct reports in alignment with corporate strategy, and

ensure that all SCM goals and objectives are being met;

  • Lead employees to anticipate and solve problems and plan for workload changes;
  • Motivate and challenge direct reports; encourage growth and development; promote strengths; address performance deficiencies;
  • Delegate tasks to staff; communicate clear and consistent expectations and timelines, monitor progress, measure results, and provide timely feedback and coach staff on performance;
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews with all direct reports;
  • Develop and promote internal employees and recruit new employees as needed;
  • Provide training required for employee success in performing duties;
  • Communicate and administer company policies to all employees throughout the department;
  • Promote a safe work environment by visibly participating, encouraging and considering safety in every aspect of daily activity. Conduct regular safety meetings;
  • Establish rapport and provide prompt responses to internal and external customer, vendor and branch inquiries about material and the procurement functions (including warehouse errors, shortages, and damaged material, stock outs, etc);
  • Establish working relationships with key suppliers to facilitate smooth supply of material;
  • Handle confidential information related to vendor costs and other financial information vital to MRC Global with great integrity;
  • Maintain and update various documents, records and files: price sheets, trade discount pricing, historical purchasing logs, short matrix

(CRC) and cost matrix (SCM internal);

  • Review and maintain accurate and up to date vendor and buyer information on the Corporate Item Master for all assigned products;
  • Work closely with the Inventory Logistics team to review and maintain accurate vendor and buyer info, and replenishment strategy on the

Branch Inventory Master;

  • Oversee manually purchased commodities to ensure routine and timely review and execution of procurement;
  • Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as requested;
  • Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job;
  • Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illness immediately.
 
Position Requirements

Education, Experience & Ability Requirements

Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities,

will be considered.

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent  combination of education and industry work experience that provides the knowledge

 and abilities necessary to perform the work;

  • Previous experience to include any combination of customer service, inside sales and/or warehouse services in a position with increasing

responsibility;

  • Demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience;
  • High level of proficiency and accuracy in computer skills, Microsoft Excel, Access, Word and Outlook;
  • Ability to learn MRC Global business processes and MRC Global specific software
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailed knowledge to others.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others; to understand and interpret safety instructions;

and to respond to inquiries;

  • Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global’s guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
