Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health Glenholme School provides programs and services for students ages 10 to 21 with autism spectrum disorders, including Aspereger's, ADHD, OCD, Tourette, depression, anxiety and various learning differences. Located in Washington, CT, this part-time position is responsible for helping with horse care and stable duties and other related duties as necessary.

Position Requirements


An Associates or Bachelors degree in Equine Sciences, Education, Recreation, Human Services, Psychology, or related field is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate stable management skills.


Ability to recognize signs of equine health and disease. Understanding of stable management procedures including how to maintain and teach the maintenance of a safe and clean stable environment. Nutritional maintenance. Ability to teach grooming, tack cleaning, and correct tacking and un-tacking procedures. Ability to correctly and safely lunge and ride school horses to maintain fitness and training.
