Finishing Supervisor, Plant 33 (Nights)

D Shift: 7pm-7am, Rotating Schedule


The Finishing Shift Manager supervises/directs the finishing operation, completes scheduled production, and meets safety, quality, and productivity standards established by management; monitors process flow, meets executive schedule, identifies and facilitates solutions, and is capable to provide efficient operation of the finishing department from slitting through delivery to the Distribution center.


  • Recommends changes in equipment/workforce requirements necessary to meet assigned production schedules to the Finishing Production Manager
  • Recommends changes in methods of manufacture or other departures from standard operating procedures designed to improve quality or lower manufacturing cost of the plants' products to the Finishing Production Manager
  • Observes production operations; analyzes quality data in order to ensure compliance with manufacturing and product specs
  • Determines if departmental equipment is in operable condition
  • Carries out departmental programs on safety, fire protection, and housekeeping
  • Investigates accidents which might occur to ensure the health and welfare of employees
  • Participates in company sponsored and self-development programs as is practical
  • Facilitates employee team meetings in problem solving, providing guidance and technical support per S4 Facilitator/S4 Coach guidelines
  • Fulfills role of S4 Coach for normal production structure as well as multiple facilitator-led teams per S4 Facilitator/S4 Coach guidelines
  • Performs other assignments as given by the Finishing Production Manager

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent knowledge/related experience)
  • Able to perform significant amounts of administrative and clerical duties

  • Possesses strong leadership/supervisory skills

  • Familiarity with company’s products and with office protocol


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time


    Provide a brief description of the physical requirements of the job and the work environment in which the job is performed.

  • 90% of work hours on floor throughout the department observing and directing employees

  • High noise levels in certain parts of the plant

  • Wears proper PPE in the manufacturing area (shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection)
  • Able to work extended hours when required
