Successful incumbents will have opportunities to work with their mentor on a research project, attend our Lunch ‘n’ Learns and participate in the annual Ward Summer Student Research Day where they will have an opportunity to present their findings to the organization and its visitors. The student will participate in a variety of different research projects in the area of disability, health and the arts. The student will assist with an investigation that seeks to examine the impact of camp participation for children with cancer and their bereaved siblings and assist with a study on the impact of a community arts program for children with disabilities. Finally, the student will help to write a grant application pertaining to children with disabilities and museum curatorship. Key Responsibilities Data gathering, entry, analysis. General administrative and clerical functions to support projects. Development of program materials and assistance with presentations and teaching. Literature searching and review. Qualifications Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (3rd or 4th year), or medical school Students studying life sciences, arts and humanities, social sciences or enrolled in other relevant programs will be given priority Minimum cumulative GPA of 80% or over Able to communicate effectively with staff and clients. Good writing and communication abilities Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrates ability to work as part of a team and be a team player. Shows accuracy and attention to detail. Able to organize work to ensure deadlines are met and follow-up is complete. Has working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
