We are looking for a responsible Night Shift Supervisor to oversee manufacturing at our New Hartford, Connecticut facility. The role is a complex one. He/She will not just be someone who supervises the work of others. The supervisor is also responsible for coaching, resolving issues, improving operational performance, and serving as a link between subordinates and the Production Manager/Plant Manager. Work hours are negotiable between the hours of 5pm and 6am, typically 48 hr/week. This position reports to the Production Manager.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' supervisory experience in manufacturing environments. They need to be a competent individual who has proven ability to guide and train employees. He/She will be well-versed in processes under the role's responsibility, and will be results-driven and focused.
The goal is to ensure that manufacturing is carried out efficiently while meeting safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company's plans and vision, and communicate them to subordinates.

Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.

Ensure production schedule is met.

Monitor employee safety, quality, and productivity to provide constructive feedback and coaching. Undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.

Lead continuous improvement activities with shift.

Receive complaints and resolve problems.

Provide training and technical support to subordinates.

Maintain timekeeping and personnel records.

Pass on information from upper management to employees and vice versa.

Prepare and conduct performance reviews for subordinates. Decide on reward and promotion based on performance.

Ensure new employees are properly trained.

Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures.
