Construction Laborer / KCKS

Are you a hard-working, dependable person ready to take on a new challenge? We are currently seeking hard-working employees to join our award-winning team as production laborers for our Brand-New Facility (Opening Late, December 2017). This role works under direct supervision of the Production Manager and/or Foreman for the purpose of performing the following duties:

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set-up Steel Forms
  • Tying reinforcing bars
  • Finishing Concrete
  • Setting inserts
  • Cleaning up
  • Takes the initiative to remain involved in productive work throughout the workday.
  • Comes to work regularly and on time, in accordance with company policy.
  • Demonstrates loyalty to the company and mutual respect for other personnel.
  • Functions as a team player, and looks for ways to improve the way work is done
  • Adheres to plant safety policies in accordance with the Company Safety Manual and through the direction of the Safety Coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to consistently produce a quality product.
  • Ability to learn new skills based upon customer requirements.
  • Ability to calculate area and volume.
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, twist and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, talk and hear. The employee will be on his/her feet a majority of the day. Manual lifting requirements are to moderate to heavy at times, but with the assistance of other personnel and hoisting equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The noise level is generally loud on the production floor or in the yard. This position works both in the plant and outdoors in the yard, therefore subject to all weather conditions sometimes to include extreme cold and heat. The work described will require the employee to wear all PPE to include: safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection, leather gloves, safety vest & steel toed boots.
Position Requirements

Education / Experience / Certifications:

  • 1-2 years of similar work in the construction or precast concrete industry.
