About the Job

Under the direction of the Manager, Quality and Regulatory Compliance, this position is responsible for facilitating critical investigations of quality escapes and failed parts which are identified by the Quality and Materials departments. This position ensures that root causes of escapes and failures are identified and appropriate actions are taken.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Spares Dead on Arrival (DOA)/No Fault Found (NFF) parts programs
• Facilitate the investigations of failed, NFF, DOA and defective parts, to identify root causes, recommend changes and improvements to parts, documentation and processes. Establish and publish performance metrics to show trends
• Investigations include working directly with customers, field technical personnel, supplies and all company departments worldwide as needed, to investigate quality escapes, identify root causes, recommend changes and improvements to parts, documentation and processes. Establish and publish performance metrics to show improvement trends
• Facilitation includes scheduling and organizing meetings, working and communicating directly with all fellow employees in all departments to evaluate work flow processes and identify efficiency, quality and cost cutting improvements. Assists department to establish and publish applicable performance metrics to show trends
• Assists all departments to develop and implement appropriate training programs. Includes conducting training as well as training each department selected trainer. Recommend external training courses as identified during investigations
• Perform miscellaneous investigations as assigned
• Other duties may be assigned by Management in order to meet department or business objectives on an as-needed basis

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent professional experience
• FAA Airframe and Power Plant Technicians license or equivalent education/experience
• Five years of commercial or civil aircraft maintenance experience
• Two years quality administration experience in aircraft or aircraft component maintenance
• Familiarity with airworthiness regulations with regards to procurement, documentation and traceability
• Experience with the use of aircraft or component illustrated parts catalogues
• Advanced level of proficiency with MS Office, database management and reporting systems
• Ability to work well with others with little direct supervision
• Ability to work within a team environment and initiate and facilitate meetings and conferences
• Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) with customers, field technical personnel, suppliers and all company departments worldwide as needed in a professional and effective manner
• Ability to perform objective root cause investigations
• Ability to read, write and understand French is desired
• Experience with Industry Quality Monitoring/Improvement Systems (ISO, Six Sigma, etc.) desired
• Technical proficiency with the type of products being supported by DFJ preferred
